Who needs cute shoes when you have squash?

Bought these Zephyr squash at our local farmers market from the local farmer where we always pick our strawberries!!
The kids said I just HAD to buy some because they matched my outfit that night. So of course, I did.
I mean, honestly, who doesn't love a coordinating squash now and then??  I had just thrown on some flip flops that night afterall...I was in need of a a little accessorizing!

I sliced them put them on a cookie sheet and drizzled on some olive oil, then some garlic powder, sea salt, thyme and pepper.  Baked it at 450 and turned it halfway through the cooking.  We all LOVED it!!

My sweet daughter decorated our table tonight on her own with no prompting.  There's something about flowers in a mason jar that screams simplicity and loveliness to me!!  Just love it!!  And that she tore a piece of toile to tie around....yes I love that girl, she makes me smile from my inside out!

Laura I'd say Hiram's is about twice the size at Lexington's then :-) hee hee!! They just started our market the week we left for Honduras. So I'm all about supporting it to help it grow!! I'm excited to have one so close that's really farmers. Powder Springs has one, sort of thrown together and it's not controlled at all. This must be all local, and there are rules, etc......we were actually impressed with how well it was put together. Proud of my little town!!

Wow, I am so glad to read your review of the Hiram Farmer's Market. Every Tuesday, I ponder whether or not to try it but always end up heading over to Whole Foods for our fruits and veggies. Do they have a good selection of organically grown produce? I would love to support our market!

Well, it's not huge, but it's nice to have. They had several booths and enough selection. Nothing overly exciting, but if you don't have a garden with several varieties of tomatoes, squash, blueberries, egg plants, etc etc....it's worth it, especially to keep it in business and help them grow this first year!!
